Autumn Adventures

Where to find all the fall goodies in downtown Raleigh!

There’s finally a hint in the air that fall is coming! We’ve scoped out some fun treats, drinks and events in and around downtown Raleigh that will get you in the mood for Autumn!

  • Get chili! We’re drooling over the Raleigh Times Bar’s chili special this week. Beef, onion, jalapeno, red and green better peppers, red kidney beans and tomato simmered in Pabst Blue Ribbon beer. It's topped with sour cream, scallions and cheddar cheese … why have dinner anywhere else this week? 14 E. Hargett St.

  • Dress up and hit the Costume Contest at Raleigh Raw this Saturday from 8-11 p.m. Winners get some amazingly good Raleigh Raw prizes, including a $200 RR gift card, a three-day juice cleanse or a curated retail basket. They’ll also be serving up their staple Turkish coffee and seasonal herbal tonics. 7 W. Hargett St.

  • The apple of our eye this season is at Lucettegrace, which is tempting us with a gluten-free Apple Almond Cheesecake that you can pick up for any upcoming dinner party or potluck. They replaced the traditional graham cracker crust with a gluten-free almond frangipane and added apple butter, caramelized apples, rum raisins and candied walnuts. No doubt, you’ll be popular when you show up for dinner with this in hand. Order 24 hours in advance. $28. 235 S. Salisbury St.

  • Get spooked! We can’t wait to hear all the ghost tales at downtown Raleigh’s Haunted History Walking Tour. The tour shares Raleigh’s dark secrets as your tour guide leads you to some of the most haunted places in downtown, including the Governor's Executive Mansion and the State Capitol Building. You will hear stories of paranormal encounters and unexplained phenomena. This tour is pay-what-you-want and requires advance registration through Eventbrite here. Tours start this Friday, Oct. 12 and run on weekends through Saturday, Oct 26.

  • Get warmed up with the S’mores Latte at the Morning Times coffee shop. It’s got cocoa, of course, with hints of brown sugar, honey and cinnamon. We love it topped off with marshmallows and graham cracker crumbs. All we need is a warm fire to sit by! 10 E. Hargett St.
