Bloody Hell, Yes Ma’am!!

Whether you like your Bloody Mary topped with enough surf and turf to make a meal, or simple and strong as a classic hangover cure, there’s something so satisfying about them.

It’s easier to distinguish a bad Bloody than a great one. What makes a great one? We’d say fresh ingredients and good vodka are a good start. These five are definitely worth a try, in no particular order

  • Clouds Brewing - If you’re a serial Sunday bruncher, this experience is for you. On Sundays from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Clouds offers a Bloody Mary Bar, where you can load up your masterpiece with all of your favorite fixin’s. It’s buffet style, so go big. No one’s stopping you! 126 N. West St.

  • NOFO - It’s not hard to see why these Bloody Marys are award winning. They come garnished with fresh peppers, olives, celery, and dill beans. (The New York-style brunch doesn’t disappoint, either!) Don’t miss the Bloody Mary mixes for sale in the store upstairs, along with additions to make it your own creation. Just add vodka! (Holiday gift alert!!) 2014 Fairview Rd.

  • Raleigh Times Bar - Made from the Times' house-made Bloody Mary mix, this local favorite is topped with cucumber, pepperoncini pepper, olives, candied bacon, and dill beans. (Note: we love this one with extra horseradish!) The best part about this Bloody? It comes with a 5-ounce sidecar of any draft beer for a couple extra bucks. 14 E. Hargett St.

  • Humble Pie - If “Southern charm” was liquified, it’d be in this Bloody Mary. The best part is whatever magic they put in the spicy salt rim! Cute atmosphere, tasty biscuits and honey to start, and the Bloody Mary + Breakfast Tacos combo is a boozy bruncher’s heaven. 317 S. Harrington St.

  • The Station - Located in the heart of Mordecai, this spot is a local favorite. The Bloody Mary is classic and hearty, topped with olives, bacon, and lime. The heated outdoor seating is perfect for fall weather, people watching, and experiencing local flavors! 701 N. Person St.
