Dog’s Day Out

It’s 2023 and, let’s face it, we spend a lot of time at home with our dogs. Whether you’re working from home all day, or patiently waiting for the warm spring weather, it might be time to treat yourself and your furry friend to a little outing! Pack up your pup and head out the door - We’ve put together a list of five of our favorite dog-friendly bars and restaurants in downtown Raleigh.

  • Burial Beer Co. Taproom – The Raleigh location of this Asheville-based brewery is located inside Transfer Co. Food Hall. Step into what they call “The Exhibit” and enjoy the haunting artwork and 24 taps of delicious brews. Dogs are always welcome, and there are water bowls located right inside the door. 500 E Davie St.

  • The Raleigh Times – The ultimate “see-and-be-seen” locale for the hippest dogs in town, The Raleigh Times has been serving downtown humans and their dogs for 17 years. Posting up at an outdoor table on a nice day? Just be prepared for a slew of strangers stopping to pet your pet! 14 E Hargett St.

  • Pelagic Beer & Wine – Settle in with your pup at this quaint little bottle shop in the Person Street Corridor. With plenty of outdoor seating, you can while the day away with a good book and a good boy. 300 Pace St.

  • Landmark Tavern – A watering hole for dogs and humans alike, Landmark is the perfect spot to bring Spot. Dogs can lounge on the back patio (and with the after-work crowd), or belly up to the bar with you and your friends. The bartender might even have a treat or two, if you ask nicely. 117 E Hargett St.

  • Whiskey Kitchen – When you’re looking for a nice meal with your dog in tow, don’t pass by Whiskey Kitchen. The restaurant and bar located across from Nash Square have a spacious outdoor patio complete with a fire pit and charming market lights for those Instagrammable moments. Your dog will be well taken care of with fresh water and a pat on the head! 201 W Martin St.
