Bring on the Fall Beers, Baby!

We felt a briskness in the air today, and that means it’s time to light a pumpkin candle, grab a cozy blanket, and pop open those fall beers! Even though we know this is just the start of “false fall,” we’re already dreaming of cooler days when we can enjoy a patio without breaking a sweat. Here are five beer bars and restaurants that will soon have those tasty fall brews on tap!

  1. State of Beer: Downtown Raleigh's Bottle & Sandwich Shop: For those who love both beer and a good hangout spot, State of Beer is the place to be. Known for its extensive selection of craft beers and laid-back vibe, complete with a charming outdoor seating area, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy your first fall beer of the season. They also double as a bottle shop with a wide array of IPAs, pilsners, sours, and more. Oh, and did we mention they’re also a sandwich shop? This is what dreams are made of. Grab a cold one and a sandwich, then kick back and enjoy the downtown scene! 401 Hillsborough St.

  2. Sitti: Sitti isn’t just about incredible Lebanese cuisine—it’s a go-to spot for beer lovers, too. They always have a rotating Lebanese beer on the menu, along with bottled beers and brews on tap from around the world, including a selection from local breweries you know and love. And with fall approaching, it’s the perfect time to try their Oktoberfest beverage to get into the spirit of the season! Whether you’re pairing a beer with their legendary mezze or enjoying it solo, their selection adds a new twist to your Sitti experience. 137 S. Wilmington St.

  3. Flying Saucer Draught Emporium: Flying Saucer has long been a staple in the Raleigh beer scene, and for good reason. With an impressive selection of nearly 300 beers (81 on draught and over 200 in bottles), it’s a haven for beer enthusiasts. The best part? You can join their UFO Club and become an official "Beerknurd" once you’ve tried 200 beers. You’ll even get your very own saucer with your name or a quote mounted on the wall! Fall is the perfect time to start working toward this goal. 328 W. Morgan St.

  4. The Raleigh Times: The Raleigh Times is where you go for rare craft beer and horrendously good times! This beer bar with Belgian roots and a history of people hollering “hot off the press!” is the spot you dream of when you need a local watering hole. With sixteen lines, four bars, five dining rooms, and a rooftop with stunning views of downtown, it’s easy to fall in love with this place. Before you know it, you’ll be on a first-name basis with the bartenders and the regulars who hang out there daily. 14 E. Hargett St.

  5. Burial Beer Co. Raleigh Taproom: Can we be buried here?! The beers at Burial are to die for (pun intended…). Known as “The Exhibit,” Burial’s Raleigh space is a blend of industrial chic and artistic flair, with unique art covering the walls. The Exhibit features twenty-four taps pouring their latest small-batch beers, taproom bottle and can releases, cider, VISUALS wine, and vermouth. They also showcase a curated selection of goods from local artisans. Even better? Burial is located inside Transfer Co. Food Hall, so after a few brews, you can wander over for a burger, some Indian cuisine, empanadas, or whatever you’re craving. 500 E. Davie St. #170
