Load your Stomach with the Best Loaded Fries in Raleigh!
If you’re all about the cheese factor when it comes to FRY-day vibes, read on. We’re sharing five places in downtown Raleigh that’ll more than “meat” your expectations.
The Pit Authentic BBQ – Walk through the Warehouse District to find loaded fries to go hog-wild about. The Pit’s Barbecue Fries are hand-cut fries packed with pulled pork, melted pimento cheese, and scallions, all paired with a side of BBQ ranch dressing. Ask your server which bourbon whiskey they recommend you sip on the side to enhance the smokey flavors of the pork from the pit. 328 W. Davie St.
Flying Saucer Draught Emporium – Fresh fries and a cold beer is a combo we can get behind. In addition to their extensive collection of draft beer, Flying Saucer has Cheese Fries Surprise loaded with cheddar-jack, bacon, chives, and jalapeños, served with ranch (and a little surprise underneath.) If you want to go wild, switch it up a little and order the Loaded Rocket Tots, made with jalapeño potato tots, topped with cheddar-jack, goat cheese, bacon, green onion, and a fried egg. 328 W. Morgan St.
Element Gastropub – Take a Saturday afternoon to explore the side of Fayetteville Street that many forget about. Wonder down towards the Raleigh Convention Center and have a seat at Element Gastropub to snack on their battered fries with bacon, white queso, ranch, and scallions (it’s the queso for us…) While you’re there, enjoy one of their salads, “sandos”, and delicious desserts paired with a craft cocktail, like the Hibiscus Gin & Tonic or the Kombuchamosa. 421 Fayetteville St., Suite 103
Buena Papa Fry Bar (Morgan Street Food Hall) – Buena Papa Fry Bar… the mecca for hardcore French fry lovers (they don’t call themselves French fry specialists for nothing). This fry bar located in Morgan Street Food Hall has a menu loaded with the most mouth-watering loaded fries. You’ll find selections piled high with chorizo, guacamole, pico, coleslaw, salmon, and more. They have four signature sauces for dipping, drizzling, or drenching your fries and two special drinks, the Passion Fruit and the Blackberry. 411 W. Morgan St., Suite 104.
Barcelona Wine Bar – We’re expanding the definition of fries for this one, only because they’re so sinfully scrumptious. Savor Barcelona Wine Bar’s Spanish Patatas Bravas, or “spicy potatoes”, served with salsa brava and garlic aioli. Dress up for an evening with your friends, and enjoy these elevated “fries” together with a bottle of red wine. 430 W. Martin St.
