Self-Care Staples

With summer almost officially over, and beach trips (including beach hair) almost a distant memory, we’re thinking about all the self-care we’ve neglected these last few months. Fortunately, we don’t have to look far in downtown Raleigh to find some of the best in the region.

  • 110 Hot Yoga on Blount Street is a great option if you’re looking for a sweat-it-out, detox situation! While the hot yoga is great, they also have strength and balance classes, too. Book classes online. 444 S. Blount St. Suite 110

  • We love massages at Revive on Hargett Street. From pre-natal to foot reflexology, Revive has a long menu of options. Pro tip: they’ll even come to your office! Pick from 30, 60 or 90 minute options. Walk out feeling revived! 115 ½ E. Hargett St.

  • For a quick manicure, Joja Nails (201. S. West St.) and Hightide Salon (309 W. Martin St., book online in advance) are some of the best downtown. Both salons are in the Warehouse District, so make an afternoon of it: Stroll the nearby shops (Father and Son and Urban Outfitters) and reward yourself with a piece of chocolate cake after at The Pit!

  • Need a blow-out for an upcoming event or just a pick-me-up? Alter Ego on Hargett Street is your place. They also specialize in funky cuts and colors- so go wild if you’re looking for a change! 119 E. Hargett St.

  • For the ultimate in self-care, don’t miss the Self Care Marketplace. From glow serums to candles, this Martin Street shop has everything you need to unwind and get centered. 12 W. Martin St.
