  • “Elf - The Musical”. Leave it to North Carolina Theatre to bring our favorite holiday movie to the stage. Tickets have been selling fast for what’s expected to be one of the most popular shows this holiday season. Buy tickets here. A.J. Fletcher Opera Theater at the Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts. 2 E. South St.

  • The Carolina Ballet’s Nutcracker. For the second year, the Carolina Ballet performs its reimagined Nutcracker, creating a modern version of the beloved class with updated sets, costumes and choreography. The production runs Dec. 14-24. Buy tickets here. Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts. 2 E. South St.

  • A Christmas Carol - Theatre in the Park. This year’s production is extra special, not only because the beloved show is in its 50th year, but because this is the last year David Ira Wood III will be playing Scrooge.
