It’s the most wonderful time of the year … for dinner and show in downtown Raleigh! Four of the year’s biggest shows are all at the Martin Marietta Center for Performing Arts in various venues, starting this weekend. So buy your tickets at one of the shows below, make a dinner reservation at a downtown restaurant (here’s a great list!) and catch the holiday spirit!
Holiday Pops - N.C. Symphony. The Symphony joins guest vocalist Shayna Steel and the N.C. State University Chorale for a festive concert full of your holiday favorites. Dec. 8-9, Meymandi Concert Hall at the Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts. Buy tickets here. 2 E. South St.
“Elf - The Musical”. Leave it to North Carolina Theatre to bring our favorite holiday movie to the stage. Based on the hit movie turned holiday classic from 2003, the musical shares Buddy the Elf’s hilarious journey from the North Pole to the big city to find his real dad. Elf runs Dec. 9-17. The Carolina Ballet’s Nutcracker. For the second year, the Carolina Ballet performs its reimagined Nutcracker, creating a modern version of the beloved class with updated sets, costumes and choreography. A Christmas Carol - Theatre in the Park. This year’s production is extra special, not only because the beloved show is in its 50th year, but because this is the last year David Ira Wood III will be playing Scrooge.
