Spring has sprung!

Spring has sprung in downtown Raleigh, and we are here for all of it, even the dreaded yellow pollen. Here’s what we’re looking forward to this spring in downtown Raleigh:

  • Buying new plants. It’s no secret that we adore Copperline, the new plant shop at the corner of Hargett and Salisbury streets. Add some green to your living space and think warm, green thoughts. 23 W. Hargett St.

  • Tiptoeing around the tulips. And in downtown, there’s no better place to see beautiful gardens than at the N.C. Executive Mansion. The grounds are beautiful all year long, but spring is especially gorgeous at the governor’s mansion. Walk around the block and peek in the fence to admire the work (snapdragons, azaleas, tulips and more) of the on-site gardeners. (Want to schedule a tour? Fill out this form.) 109 E. Jones St.

  • Spring pasta. If you’re like us and can’t get enough of peas this time of year, pop into Gravy for Spaghetti alla Carbonara, a dish with house-made spaghetti, pancetta, local mushrooms, shallots, and peas all tossed together with a creamy white wine, parmesan and egg sauce. It’s the perfect taste of spring! 23 W. Hargett St.

  • Sipping some green wine. Haven’t tried a Grüner Veltliner? Stop by The Hippo Wine Bar to sample the Brunn Grüner Veltliner, a versatile Austrian white wine with citrus and apple notes. 123 E. Martin St.

  • Nailing it with fresh spring nails. If your toes have been hiding all winter, it’s time for a refresh at Stay Polished, downtown Raleigh’s newest nail salon. Why not try soft peach, bold yellow or fiery red – a few of the trendy colors this spring. 208 Fayetteville St.
