The DTR Weekend Plan
Buckle up, downtown Raleigh. This weekend is packed full of a wide array of interesting things to do and we’ve got the itinerary that will have you bopping all over downtown to get a taste of everything.
7 p.m. on Thursday: Single Mingle at Umbrella Bar on Martin Street. Who needs a dating app when there’s meeting new people in IRL with some cool mocktails, one of downtown Raleigh’s newest hotspots?
5-10 p.m. on Friday: Earth Day Celebration. On a Friday? Yep. The festivities, with food trucks, games, crafts and free trees (!), start at 5 p.m. at Flowers Field at Dorothea Dix Park. Get all the info here. Get down with saving the planet!
10 a.m. on Saturday: Celebrate 75 years of one of our favorite places to shop in Raleigh, The Village District! Live music, beer, and of course, lots of shopping.
Noon-6 p.m. on Saturday: ‘Cuegrass Festival on Fayetteville Street. The original bluegrass festival is back with nine bluegrass bands on two stages. Don’t forget the Eastern North Carolina barbecue from The Pit and beer from R&D Brewing. Add a lot of sunshine and some late-spring temps, and you’ve got a perfect afternoon. (And it’s all for a good cause. We can all get onboard supporting the child-abuse prevention agency SAFEchild)
8-3pm on Sunday The Great Raleigh Clean Up’s Earth Day Extravaganza at Moore Square kicks off the day with a fun run, flow yoga, a plant swap and a market with conservation-minded vendors.
