‘Tis the Szn to Get Spooky

For those of you who love pumpkin spice and everything that goes bump in the night, we know where to go in downtown Raleigh to help you get in the spooky spirit:

  • Deco Raleigh - 207 S. Salisbury St. - Transform your very own home into a boo-tiful haunted house with Deco’s decor selection. From wicked candle holders and skeleton wall art to scary stickers, guests will fall in love with your “creepy chic” vibes.

  • The Pour House Music Hall & Record Shop - 224 S. Blount St. - Walk down the alley to rock out to a killer show or buy a new vinyl record … but only if you dare! The Pour House is decked out to the nines with ghouls, goblins, and few limbs missing a body. Make sure to sip on their sinister concoctions, including the Herbert West, injected with “THE SERUM” (Beware! These cocktails are only available through Halloween!)

  • Morning Times - 10 E. Hargett St. - Need a jolt before walking through Oakwood to feast your eyes on the famous “Halloween House” located at 504 Oakwood Avenue? Stop in The Morning Times for their Black Forest Latte! It’s chocolate, cherry, and a little bit scary. Keep an eye out for creepy critters who make their home in the webbing by the window.

  • The Optimist - 1000 Brookside Dr. STE 109 - “Your neighborhood coffee house and local haunt,” In addition to its superb coffee and food menus, this cafe captured our hearts thanks to its passion for the Halloween spirit… in April. All year long, the establishment has “life-sized” skeleton guest hanging out at the bar and tables (we can see why these souls didn’t want to pass on to the afterlife!) Join them this weekend for some extra fun at Fall Fest, presented by Brookside Bodega and The Optimist, this Saturday!

  • The Merchant - 126 S. Salisbury St. - Feel the essence of the season in your bones when you’re presented with an experiential cocktail at The Merchant. This speakeasy with beverages that smoke and spit fire features a lovely skull on the entry door. As you stroll in, you’ll see wallpaper covered in crossbones and gold skull candles on each table. We promise you’ll have a fang-tastic time.
